Following on from the success of last years SUP Instructor conference we are extremely pleased to be holding another in March.
In an agreement between the British Stand Up Paddle Association and the Welsh Surfing Federation, Welsh competitors results from this years 2019 BSUPA Sup Surf Series will be shared with and used by W.S.F to assist with their team selection for 2019/2020 International or World Stand Up Paddleboard Competitions. Not so long ago we published the press releases and schedule for the 2019 BSUPA Instructor conference. Well, the bang of the drum continued as SUP instructors & BSUPA members across the country awoke from the salty slumber of winter to come together for the common good of promoting paddleboarding with BSUPA. After all, growing paddle boarding in the UK for our members is the ultimate goal at BSUPA. It’s what we set out to do and as our AGM showed that is what is being achieved.
There are two
international events requiring team selection in SUP surf, race and
prone paddle board disciplines. Ideally, it would be preferable for
all race disciplines to follow a comparable process however, there
are a number of factors which impinge upon
doing so; particularly that at the time of going to press an official
date or location is still to be released by the International Surfing
Association (ISA) for this year’s world championships or the
European Surfing Federation (ESF) for the European championships.
