Women in SUP
At BSUPA we value all of our qualified SUP Instructor members but we are sensitive to the fact that only one third of them are female. We wish to give our female members and other female SUP Instructors from alternative training pathways, an opportunity to “meet, share and shape the future…” at our first BSUPA Women in SUP Instructors Workshop on April 21st 2018, at Hadleigh Park, in Essex. This is a not-for-profit BSUPA event being hosted by Frangipani SUP Ltd (a BSUPA approved SUP school).
SUP Instructors Workshop
The workshop agenda will be built around the theme “meet, share and shape the future…” and a pre-workshop online survey will be used to scope-out desired agenda topics around the basic objective of developing the skills, knowledge and visibility of female SUP instructors in the UK. It will focus on what they do brilliantly, the challenges they face, sharing best practice, helping each other learn and defining how we can all work together and support each effectively in the future. The workshop will be highly interactive and based on the facilitated sharing of experiences, knowledge and ideas, with delegates encouraged to contribute information about their teaching, their SUP schools and the challenges they face. In the morning, facilitated group working will be used to generate ideas and share best practice around the agenda topics and in the afternoon the small reservoir will be used for on-water learning and paddling micro-teaches, using iSUPs provided by Frangipani SUP Ltd.
“Meet, share and shape the future…”
The delegate fee of £45 includes free parking, café lunch and café pasta supper. Once all event costs are paid, any money left over will be donated to charity. Spaces will be limited due to classroom size, so booking via the Facebook event page is essential.
