SUP for Cancer is back for it’s second year in the River Itchen at the Southampton Water Activities Centre on the 25th June.
When: 25th June 2017
Where: River Itchen, Southampton Activities Centre
After a successful first year in 2016, the charity event held in aid of Cancer Research is once more being held on the River Itchen, based from of Southampton Water Activities Centre.
The event endeavours to cater for all levels of paddler, providing several course lengths (3km, 6km, 12km) to choose from. This year also see’s a 6k ’SUP with ya Pup’ category for paddlers that can’t be parted with their favourite pooches for too long.
“The event is organised as a participation paddle” says event organiser, Rich Thoroughgood, “But we have been lucky enough to have attracted some competitive paddlers, and have been happy to integrate the competitive element within the event.”
SUP for Cancer is a charity event with all entries donated directly to Cancer Research. In addition to the event entry fees being donated, there is also a charity auction at the end of the event to raise further money.
The support for the event has once again been tremendous, with donations from Fanatic, Red Paddle Co. Freshwater Bay paddleboards, N1SCO, Watersports World, Fusion Stereos, Paddle Logger, Active Nation & Greengood media at the time of going to press, with more event partners contacting us on a regular basis.
