The Thames River Relay is a challenge to bring focus to plastic pollution in the Thames that is threatening the sport of SUP in affected areas. The relay started on the 1st of September and will end on the 25th of September and involves carrying a bottle of Thames water from source to sea with many groups of paddle boarders taking part.

The relay has already travelled through Lechlade and on Tuesday the stretch of water between Goring and Henley will be paddled with Arnaud and Cathy who have travelled all the way from Reunion Island to take part.

On the final two days of the challenge, 24-25th of September there will be a 20km SUP race to Big Ben and a paddle through the Thames barrier.

Anyone wanting to participate in the challenge can access the Thames River SUP Relay website to find a route plan and where to join.
