Animal Windfest and BSUPA SUP race event

BSUPA subsidizes Stand Up Paddle Division. The tone of this year’s Poole-based Animal Windfest event is approachability and encouragement. Keen to draw young, new and established paddleboarders to the water, Animal introduces subsidized entry fees for competitors to ensure anyone feels welcome and encouraged to participate.
Gary Willingham, Windfest organiser says “Animal has funded reduced entry fees this year which is perfect when this event is all about attracting every type of watersports fan to have a go.
“It’s not all about top-level competition although this remains well represented; we have worked hard this year to provide something for everyone.” Paddleboarders can enter the second year of the long distance race around the stunning Brownsea Island, set in the centre of Poole’s extensive harbour, for a subsidized fee of £25 (BSUPA members) or £35 for non-members. This includes a free event t-shirt, free pasta lunch on two days, sprint racing entry, and a half price Saturday night party ticket.
Sprint racing is also up for grabs alone, off the beach at the heart of the Sandbanks event, with the same added benefits. Entry is £10 for BSUPA members, £20 non-members.
To encourage those new to paddleboarding, Windfest will also be hosting free demo opportunities.
