About BSUPA

BSUPA (The British Stand Up Paddle Association) is a Not For Profit, Limited by Guarantee Company (Company Number 06576022) organization and is run entirely by volunteers.

BSUPA leads the development of the sport through training/coaching schemes for UK SUP schools, National and International Championship events, fun SUP events and BSUPA provides third party insurance for its members through Marsh Sport Ltd.

BSUPA was founded in 2007 by Olaus McLeod and together with Bill Fitzhugh, Grant Winter, Simon Bassett and Matt Argyle. BSUPA was officially created as an association to represent the interests of the Stand Up Paddle Boarder.

The team has evolved and now also includes Andy Gratwick, Simon Bassett, Simon Frost, Sam Ross, Lucy McCormick (Trainers), Rich Marsh, Marc Hambidge, Roger Turner and Gemma Soloman. We are always looking for more help, especially with inland waterways access issues.

Simon Bassett attended the Beach Safety and ROSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) meeting in Cardiff to represent BSUPA’s member’s interests. BSUPA worked with the RNLI to create a safety guide for SUP.

Whether you paddle for fun or competitively BSUPA represents YOU and YOUR interests and we want to hear from you! Give us your feedback; news or points of interest you may have, about our great sport.
