BSUPA in association with Sunset Surf in Gwithian proudly present a festival of SUP on 17th & 18th July.

BSUPA have been keen to hold a fun festival weekend for all levels of Stand Up Paddlers. There are no set races or surf comps its just a gathering of paddlers. There will be demo boards available, plus on water coaching for both flatwater and surf.

On Sunday the 4th July 2010, in Brighton, BSUPA in conjunction with Errant Surf and Paddle Round the Pier, will be holding a BSUPA national series race.

The BSUPA 2010 series is starting to hot up and with this being the third event in the series the rankings are starting to take shape, with four events left there is still time for it all to change. We are back at Brighton for another Paddle Round the Pier, but for the first time this race will count in the 2010 series. The race will be the same as last year where we start off to the right of West Pier, paddle out past the pier, then head to Palace Pier and race back again.

BSUPA's Simon Bassett and Matt Argyle have been working with the RNLI and other national bodies to develop a safety leaflet for people thinking of stand up paddle surfing. You will be seeing this leaflet at shops, beaches and activity centres all over the UK, but it is also available here.

If you go out into the surf you need to read this, especially the sections about etiquette in the lineup and wave priority.

1. 20th Feb, Free Training Day with Jock Patterson and Neal Gent at West Wittering, West Sussex
2. 15th May, West Wittering 12km Stand Up Paddle Race into Chichester Harbour (Series event)
3. 29th May, Roadford Lake, Devon, Stand Up Paddle Race (Series event)
4. 4th July, Brighton - Paddle Round the Pier, Stand Up Paddle Race (Series event)
5. 17th & 18th July, Gwithian Beach, Cornwall - SUP Stock - are free, fun event, hopefully we will get some waves!
6. 4th & 5th September, Gower, Wales, Stand Up Paddle Surf Contest and Race (Series event)
7. 11th & 12th September, Windfest, Poole, Stand Up Paddle Race (Series event)
8. 16th & 17th October, Watergate Bay, Stand Up Paddle Surf Contest and Race (Series event) The end of series event - not to be missed.
